PlayIQ Soft Launch Is Here

Hello Reader ,

The time has finally come. We are doing our soft launch tomorrow (January 8th). I want to thank every single one of you that has been patently waiting for PlayIQ to go live. Over the past year I have listened to all the feedback we have gotten from you guys and we are doing our absolute best to implement it all. Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with us.

I just want to share with you what you can expect over the next few weeks as we enter our soft launch and beta testing phase.

We also now have an Instagram, so make sure to follow us on there! We are very active on Instagram, share with coaches you know, and help us spread the word. Perhaps there maybe something to gain from following the Instagram page. 👀

Founding Coaches Club

As an early adopter, we are adopting the term “Founding Coach.” What this means, is that as one the first coaches to actually use PlayIQ, you will not only get direct access to Wesley and I, but you also get special pricing. We are essentially letting you use PlayIQ at cost.

You Will Be Apart of Beta Testing

We have talked about this before, but PlayIQ is still under construction. There will be more features added over the next couple of months, and things will get better as we get more coaches using PlayIQ, and we get more data and feedback from you guys.

So this means you will also be able to send us messages. We want and need your feedback to improve PlayIQ. As you may or may not already know, I have a high standard of excellence, but we need your help to get us there.

At the end of the day, the better you can help us, the better PlayIQ will be, and it all benefits you, the coach.

What Film Can Be Used?

If you have been with us long enough, you know the hardest part of developing all this, is our AI tracking model. This is what helps make those scout cards instantly, you can use the AI tracking overlay to better analyze film, track player speeds, etc.

Our goal is to make an AI tracking model that doesn’t require any special equipment. So you can use any 11on11 game film with PlayIQ. The biggest issue and variable that affect the user experience is the quality of the film.

High school film has the biggest issues. The main problem is the quality of the film (shaky, blurry, etc.) condition of the field itself, and the angle the film is at. We highly recommend film that is of good quality, and a relatively high angle, and on a field that is not torn to shreds. However, this will improve over time.

Q&A

These are some of the frequently asked questions we get and I am going to answer some here:

“What features will be available on soft launch?”

The AI tracking, automatic scout card creation, and playbook tools will be available. If you don’t need everything and just want to use the Playbook creation tools, there is an option for that.

“Will the AI work for 12 or 6 man football”

No, the AI at launch will not work for 12 or 6 man football, or anything that is not 11on11 American football. It will work for scrimmages, spring games, and team segments of practice as long as you have a wide shot camera elevated on the sidelines. BUT- you can still use to other tools that don’t AI for whatever you want. 6man, 12man, flag, or even diagrams for drills.

“How much is this going to cost?”

This is a huge breakthrough we had. With some of our first models, the prices we were going to have to charge for our full platform with AI tools was going to be astronomical. Something like $20,000 a year/ But thanks to some ideas we had on the backend with the sole purpose of getting that price down. WAY down. I cant give you an EXACT price. But for a whole football program will be between $300-$500 a month. That’s for access that everything PlayIQ has to offer. All the AI tools, playbook building, and scout card creation tools.

“Will this replace Hudl?”

We are very aware of how much coaches use Hudl. The short answer is no, not yet. We are very aware of what the Hudl ecosystem has to offer. We are releasing tools at a affordable price point knowing our clients are going to use PlayIQ as well as Hudl. In the future though, we will be able to do EVERYTHING Hudl can do but better, faster, and easier.

“We will this be available?”
