PlayIQ Soft Launch Update

Wesley and I want to sincerely thank you for being part of our soft launch. The feedback we’ve received from coaches so far has been incredibly encouraging, and it makes us even more excited about what we’re building.

As we continue refining PlayIQ, we want to be transparent about a current limitation. Our AI tracking model is still having difficulty with high school film, even when the footage is good quality. We’re actively working on a fix, and once this is resolved, anyone who spent money on AI tracking during this period will receive free credits.

We hold ourselves to a high standard of excellence. My biggest concern has always been over-promising and under-delivering, and we’re committed to doing this the right way.

College Coaches

We still have room for a small number of college coaches. Early access will be closing soon, and we’re intentionally limiting spots so we can maintain excellent customer support and respond to feedback quickly.

What Film Can Be Used?

If you’ve been with us for a while, you know the most challenging part of development has been our AI tracking model. This is what powers instant scout card creation and allows you to analyze film with tracking overlays and player speed data.

Our goal is to build an AI model that does not require any special equipment. PlayIQ is designed to work with standard 11-on-11 game film. The biggest variable affecting performance is film quality.

High school film presents the most challenges due to camera stability, clarity, field condition, and camera angle. For best results, we recommend film that is steady, clear, and shot from a higher angle on a well-maintained field. This will continue to improve over time as the model evolves.

Q&A

These are some of the frequently asked questions we get and I am going to answer some here:

“What features will be available on soft launch?”

The AI tracking, automatic scout card creation, and playbook tools will be available. If you don’t need everything and just want to use the Playbook creation tools, there is an option for that.

“Will the AI work for 12 or 6 man football”

No, the AI at launch will not work for 12 or 6 man football, or anything that is not 11on11 American football. It will work for scrimmages, spring games, and team segments of practice as long as you have a wide shot camera elevated on the sidelines. BUT- you can still use to other tools that don’t AI for whatever you want. 6man, 12man, flag, or even diagrams for drills.
