Major changes and updates to the PlayIQ platform and answers to questions
Hello Reader ,
I am going to be honest with you. Building PlayIQ has been a great pleasure, but also somewhat daunting. It is easy to say “We want to build the best software platform for coaches” but its another thing to actually do it. Wesley and I have put countless hours into this project and sometimes it feels that we haven’t even made a dent. Not only is it difficult to build AI models, code software, and physically build these tools for coaches to use. There is also a weight we feel from coaches.
We recognize that coaches around the country at all levels have a hard job. Coaches have a certain way of doing things, and with that, comes a whole lot of pressure. Because of this, we don’t take the trust coaches put in us lightly. How terrible would it be if we promised certain things, and then didn’t deliver. I don’t think I would be able to live with myself. Football is an amazing game filled with challenges. Coaches deserve the best tools to be able to help them focus more on the players and the game, instead of countless hours staring at a screen using tools that are obsolete.
In post I am going to share a few updates, as well as answer some questions we have been receiving. If you have read this far, first off thank you, but also keep reading.
HUGE changes to the platform.
We want coaches to have the best tools available, as well as the best user experience. We showed our platform to many coaches, and took the feedback we have received, and applied them. Personally, I feel like the tools we were offering were already going to be the best on the market. But now, the new interface and flow of the platform just makes everything easier.
I started to type out all the changes, but it was too much to type and for y’all to read, so I am just going to attach a link to a twitter post of a 2min video showing you guys around the platform.
You spoke, we listened. We are committed to making the best tools for coaches. We have heard feedback from players and coaches from around the country and applied some changes before we launch. Here is a quick video showing some huge changes to the platform.

AI tracking and tools
We are building something that has never been done. As you already know, we are building AI tools that coaches can use without having to have extra cameras or equipment. We have made tons of progress and there will be another demo released soon showcasing this. However, the AI tracking just is not up to our standard we believe coaches deserve yet. Yes we can track players, measure their speed, have the AI automatically draw up the plays and automatically make scout cards. But there are some bugs and accuracy issues we are addressing. I’d say we are about 85% there. I don’t think 85% is good enough.
Q&A
These are some of the frequently asked questions we get and I am going to answer some here:
“Will the AI work for 12 or 6 man football”
No, the AI at launch will not work for 12 or 6 man football, or anything that is not 11on11 American football. It will work for scrimmages, spring games, and team segments of practice as long as you have a wide shot camera elevated on the sidelines. BUT- you can still use to other tools that don’t AI for whatever you want. 6man, 12man, flag, or even diagrams for drills.
“How much is this going to cost?”
This is a huge breakthrough we had. With some of our first models, the prices we were going to have to charge for our full platform with AI tools was going to be astronomical. Something like $20,000 a year/ But thanks to some ideas we had on the backend with the sole purpose of getting that price down. WAY down. I cant give you an EXACT price. But for a whole football program will be between $300-$500 a month. That’s for access that everything PlayIQ has to offer. All the AI tools, playbook building, and scout card creation tools.
“Will this replace Hudl?”
We are very aware of how much coaches use Hudl. The short answer is no, not yet. We are very aware of what the Hudl ecosystem has to offer. We are releasing tools at a affordable price point knowing our clients are going to use PlayIQ as well as Hudl. In the future though, we will be able to do EVERYTHING Hudl can do but butter, faster, and easier.
“We will this be available?”
Ahh yes. This is the question we get asked the most. I don’t think I realized how badly coaches wanted a platform like PlayIQ. The full launch with all the tools we will be creating with the AI tools, will happen most likely early 2026. Like I mentioned before, creating this AI model with has been very challenging and it is not ready yet. HOWEVER we will be releasing a “lite” version in the next couple months. Coaches (and players) are goin to be able use the playbook tools to make and draw plays, as well as the scout card creator tool. Release date is TBD. There is some red tape we have to go through to release a software like this to the public.
If you have read this far, I want to personally thank you. If you want to reach out to me personally, I am going to leave my cell phone number at the bottom, as well as my email.
